According to the Dallas-based report, data is and will continue to be “fundamentally important to our society.” JLL.
The amount of data our society creates is rapidly increasing, and it is fundamental to the way we work, live, and play. The company points out that ChatGPT alone runs hundreds of millions of queries every day and uses the equivalent power of approximately 33,000 homes.
As a result, demand for data centers has skyrocketed as supply tightens, forcing a shift to secondary markets and new emerging markets.
JLL’s 2H 2023 North American Data Center Report shows that data center demand shows no signs of slowing down, and power availability and supply schedules continue to hinder power absorption. “Demand continues to be at an all-time high, with data center growth rapidly expanding from core markets in search of power.” Andy Kubengrossaid JLL’s managing director of data center markets in a statement.
