It’s official, I’ve become that annoying person who talks too much about dogs.
Everyone’s dogs are the best dogs in the world, so I’d like to include mine in that group. Today (March 8th), my dog Winona turned 7 months old. She has grown so much in the 5 months since we got her. We brought her home when she was 2 months old and she became…
For the most part, Winona is a pretty good dog. She is lucky to be able to receive ongoing training because she can spend a lot of time with someone at her home. She will sit when you ask, she will come back when you call her name, she is friendly towards other dogs (albeit mostly harmful to her), she will eat Waits for her food bowl to be in place before starting, and she always lets you know when she has to go potty outside.

We’re still working on getting her excited when new people come into the house, but it’s been a while since she’s reliably down to earth when she wants to give a high greeting to house guests. I have walked the path.
If you own a pet, or simply love watching “pet videos” when scrolling through social media, you may have seen this trend being practiced by dog parents. The pet parent pretends to be asleep with the food in their hands and waits for how long it takes the dog to take the food from their hands.
Like many other dogs, Winona will do anything for a treat. I’m sure if she practices eating enough, she can teach her to do a backflip. We decided to put Winona to the test! Will she be talked about as her next pet to help her father retire and live a life of luxury?!
She didn’t last a second…Sadly, it looks like I’ll have to keep typing articles for the time being.
I get a lot of questions and compliments about her name. She was named after the town where her simply wife and I met, and we call her Nona for short. You wouldn’t believe how many people think we’re just big Winona Ryder fans. Check out some of the funny names people have given their pets.
