A new economic report stunned social media users on Wednesday, showing that the U.S. had 818,000 fewer employed people than initially thought.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics provided a more accurate picture of how many jobs have been created in the country this year, revealing that over 800,000 jobs reported to have been created in March did not actually exist. X-users blamed the government, many of whom accused the Biden/Harris administration of pushing policies that weaken the economy and peddling these false numbers.
“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 818,000 jobs the Biden-Harris Administration claims to have ‘created’ do not exist,” conservative journalist Nick Soter wrote on the social media platform on Wednesday.

The report was the biggest downward revision since 2009 and suggests the labor market has started to slow more quickly than initially thought.
Commenting on the survey results, Jeffrey Roach, chief economist at LPL Financial, said, “The labor market appears weaker than initially reported. The deterioration in the labor market could allow the Fed to highlight both sides of its dual mandate and investors should expect the Fed to prepare the market for a rate cut at its September meeting.”
Former President Trump slammed the Biden/Harris administration in a Truth Social news post, accusing the president of a cover-up, writing, “Big Scandal! The Harris-Biden Administration has been found to have rigged jobs statistics to hide the true extent of the economic devastation it has brought to America.”
He then warned Harris’ 2024 presidential voters that “the actual numbers are much worse than that and if Comrade Kamala gets another four years of presidency, millions more jobs will disappear overnight and inflation will completely devastate the country.”
Ahead of policy speech, Harris’ understanding of inflation and attacks on corporations are criticized as “insane”

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, slammed the Bureau of Labor Statistics following its revisions, posting, “The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has long been used as a propaganda tool by the executive branch. Here’s how it works: They twist definitions, manipulate data, exclude disengaged workers and revise past reports to create a narrative that fits the agenda of whichever administration is in power.”
“It distorts the economic picture and misleads the public about the true state of the economy. It’s like a game of musical chairs, and neither side wants to be seen standing when the music stops,” she added, questioning why the organisation exists in the first place.
Popular conservative account End Wokeness highlighted the impact of the correction, saying, “The Biden-Harris Administration has been forced to admit that they overestimated the creation of 818,000 jobs over the course of one year. Not 818. Not 8,180. Not 80,180. 800,000.”
Conservative digital strategist Greg Price said the amendment was made while Harris was vice president, slamming her campaign promise to fix the economy.
“In the last 24 hours, the federal government revealed that Biden and Kamala have lost 291,000 illegal immigrant children to the southern border and have added 818,000 fewer jobs to the economy than previously reported. But don’t worry, Kamala will fix this on Day One!”
“The revisions were worse than expected. Wells Fargo was expecting a 600,000 job revision, while JPMorgan Chase forecasters were expecting a 360,000 revision,” said conservative commentator Collin Rugg.
“Libs on Tik Tok” posted, “The Biden-Harris Administration inflated new jobs by nearly 1 million. They said they created 818,000 new jobs but they don’t exist. 818,000!”
Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris/Waltz campaign for comment on the amendment but did not immediately receive a response.
