For millions of people in the United States, one of the biggest barriers is distance. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, rural areas have a higher mortality rate than urban areas for all of the top 10 causes of death. In part, this is because specialists who diagnose and treat diseases are concentrated in urban areas, forcing rural patients to travel long distances, receive delayed care, or not receive care at all. And as health care becomes more specialized, this gap is widening.
Dopl is filling that gap by using T-Mobile’s 5G network to eliminate distance issues.
Dopl’s mission is to enable equal access to healthcare. We optimize healthcare delivery through our platform for remote robotic surgery, starting with non-invasive ultrasound, by enabling specialists to provide care to patients in other locations via a robotic arm.
