TL;DR
- Two certification bodies have posted physical images of Samsung Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G.
- Both phones feature a so-called “key island” design with raised side buttons.
- Neither phone has been announced yet, but typically launches in March.
If the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is too rich for your blood, don’t worry. Samsung has a ton of budget-focused Galaxy A devices for 2024. The two biggest of them, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G and the Galaxy A35 5G, are just a few. It was leaked thanks to the certification body.
was first discovered sam mobile and my smart price, South Korea’s NRRA and China’s TENAA organization tested the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G. After that, we have created a public listing of the phone with live images and some specifications.
Samsung Galaxy A55 5G
At first glance, the Galaxy A55 5G looks a lot like the Galaxy S24 series (and most other Samsung phones launched in the past two years). But if you look closely, you’ll see what’s being called the “Key Island” design. The buttons on the side of the phone are surrounded by a slightly raised structure to help them stand out from the rest of the phone body. I’m still not sure why Samsung would choose this. Perhaps it’s to make it easier to visually distinguish between the Galaxy A series and Galaxy S series? That’s all I know for now.
Elsewhere, the listing confirms the A55 5G’s model number as SM-A5560. Leaked Geekbench scores (which can be easily faked) suggest that this phone may be powered by his Exynos 1480 chipset. Other rumors suggest 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and microSD card support.
Samsung typically launches its Galaxy A5x models in March, so it’s not unreasonable to expect it to launch within the next few weeks.
Samsung Galaxy A35 5G
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy A35 5G looks a lot like the Galaxy A55 5G. There is also a Key Island design. The NRAA listing confirms the model number as SM-A356N. A while back, a similar model number phone with Exynos 1380 and 6GB RAM appeared on his Geekbench. Again, these lists are easy to fake, but for a phone of this caliber it seems appropriate.
Similar to the Galaxy A5x series, Samsung usually launches the Galaxy A3x smartphones in March, so it’s possible that this and the Galaxy A55 5G will launch alongside this in the coming weeks.
