Netflix introduced download functionality in November 2016, and the service has been enhancing its download capabilities ever since. How do I download Netflix shows?
If you’re used to using Netflix on your mobile device, you’ve probably noticed the dark “Download” button just below “Play.” Click on that button and it will start downloading the local version of the movie or TV show you want.
You can download Netflix movies and TV shows to your iPhone, iPad, Android, Amazon Fire devices, and computers with Windows 10 or 11 and select Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. Netflix downloads are set to use Wi-Fi only by default, but you can change this in the app settings.
Unfortunately, there’s no Mac app for Netflix yet, so you won’t be able to download it to your Mac laptop ( running Windows too).
On Android, you can use Netflix to download entire seasons of TV shows.

Netflix allows you to store up to 100 downloads on as many devices as are included in your subscription plan. Each download has a different expiration date based on the content license, with some expiring 48 hours after you first start watching. Downloads can be updated, but some have a limit on the number of times they can be downloaded per year. When a movie or show leaves the Netflix service, all downloads of it will immediately expire.

What movies and TV shows can’t be downloaded from Netflix?
Your ability to download movies and TV shows from Netflix is determined by the content’s license, which varies by title. Netflix says it strives to make as many titles available for download as possible, and if you can’t download a movie or show, there are usually three reasons why.

From my informal research, the titles that seem most likely to be excluded from downloads are popular TV shows from cable or broadcast networks. Three of his shows, “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Gilmore Girls” and “The Walking Dead,” are available for streaming on Netflix, but they are not available for download.
Can I watch Netflix downloads in any country?
It depends on whether Netflix has a content license in the country you’re visiting for the movie or show you want to watch.
Geo-restrictions that limit streaming titles in certain countries also apply to downloaded movies and TV shows. If you’re traveling to a country where the titles you downloaded don’t appear on Netflix, you won’t be able to watch them, even if you’ve already downloaded them in your home country.
If you try to watch a downloaded movie in a country where Netflix isn’t available, you’ll see an error message in the Netflix app that says, “Cannot be downloaded in this country — not available in all countries.”
VPN software that creates a virtual private network can be used to circumvent geo-restrictions, but Netflix has strong efforts to block VPNs from working with its services. Using a VPN to circumvent geo-blocks may also be considered a violation of Netflix’s Terms of Service.
