Lakers’ LeBron James hit the 40,000 point mark on Saturday night, and Wizards legend Gilbert Arenas joked to fans.
Lakers star LeBron James broke the 40,000 point mark on Saturday, shocking the NBA world and prompting a hilarious reaction from Gilbert Arenas, the man known as “Agent Zero.”
James’ accomplishment came on the night the Lakers faced the defending NBA champion Nuggets.
Before the game, the Lakers added an athletic big man to their roster in hopes of playing against Nikola Jokic and other contenders in the West. Stephen A. Smith also apologized to LeBron and Lake Shaw after the blowout win over the crosstown rival Clippers.
On Saturday, Gilbert Arenas virtually won over the internet with his hilarious reaction to James’ feat.
Arenas’ cheerful tongue on the cheek post
The former Wizards guard has become known for his outspokenness in recent years.
He credited himself with contributing to James’ record point total in a hilarious post.

“Yes, so did Mr. Gilberto. That’s right,” one fan replied with a clap emoji.
Another fan seemed to downplay LeBron’s Lakers accomplishments against “European defenses.”
“Gilbert is to LeBron what Jalen Rose is to Kobe,” said another fan, referring to Bryant’s legendary 81-point performance against Rose and the Raptors.
Lakers continue punch-for-punch with Denver
The Lakers got 13 points from James in the third quarter of the game against the Nuggets, and Rui Hachimura led Dervin Ham’s team with 23 points.
As the game progressed, Anthony Davis scored 15 points, Austin Reeves added 14 points, and D’Angelo Russell added 17 points.
The Nuggets regained the lead from the Lakers, scoring 29 points from Jokic early in the fourth quarter.

The Lakers honored James during a timeout of a game in Tinseltown.
