release:

  • Georgia ranked third on the list of states with the highest internet dissatisfaction, with 146.59 complaints per 100,000 residents.
  • West Virginia has the highest rate of internet complaints in the US
  • Meanwhile, North Dakota, South Dakota and Hawaii had the fewest complaints.

If you’ve been having trouble connecting to the internet and have been complaining lately, especially if you live in Georgia, you’re not alone.

The state ranked third in the list of states with the most internet complaints, according to a survey by technology experts from website building platform Crawford.

The study was commissioned to gain a better understanding of the volume of complaints from each state and to identify states with the most widespread internet problems across the United States.

Technology experts analyzed Federal Communications Commission (FCC) data on internet complaints from 2014 to 2024 to determine which states had the highest number of complaints.

Georgia ranked third on the list with the third-highest number of internet complaints. Residents there filed 146.59 internet complaints per 100,000 people, highlighting widespread dissatisfaction with the quality of internet service.

The states with the most internet complaints were West Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Mississippi.

Meanwhile, the states with the fewest complaints were North Dakota, South Dakota, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Wyoming, Utah, Massachusetts, Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska.

Commenting on the survey findings, Sam Crawford, Director of by Crawford said:

“The internet is essential to many people’s daily lives and work, and some feel lost without it in their free time.

No internet or poor internet connection can be frustrating, so we wanted to find out which states have the most complaints about internet quality. We found that West Virginia has the worst internet quality, on average, and North Dakota has the best, based on the number of complaints.

We also found that billing complaints and issues with internet availability were the most common types of complaints across all states.”
