Samsung continues to update its high-end smartphones to the Android security level of August 2024. Recently, it released the new security update to its Galaxy Z Flip 5, Flip 4, and S23 FE smartphones. Now, the South Korean giant is rolling out the August 2024 update to the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold 2. Additionally, the same update is also being applied to three Galaxy A-series smartphones.
Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be updated in August 2024 in the US
SamMobile reports that the August 2024 update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 is currently rolling out in the US. The new firmware is available for factory unlocked versions of these smartphones. The build number for the update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is F707U1UES9IXH1 and is rolling out to Sprint users. For the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the new firmware build is F916U1UES7KXH1. It’s available to users on AT&T and Sprint networks in the country.
For those who don’t know, both the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Z Fold 2 were released with Android 10 in mid-2020. They’ve received four major Android updates – Android 11, Android 12, Android 13, and Android 14. Unfortunately, they won’t be getting the upcoming Android 15 update.
Samsung is also rolling out the new update to the Galaxy A32, A54, and A73.
Apart from the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Z Fold 2, three other affordable A-series smartphones will receive the August 2024 update. These devices include the Galaxy A32, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A73. The company is rolling out the new August 2024 update to international versions of these smartphones in select markets. The new update is expected to be available in more regions in the coming weeks.
The latest August 2024 update for the aforementioned smartphones fixes as many as 50 security issues. Apart from security enhancements, the new update does not add any new features. The same update will be available for more Samsung smartphones in the coming days.
