design and size
Grow in more ways than one
Design is one of the few areas where you can differentiate your product from others. galaxy a55 5G is the most popular from A54 5G. Firstly, the dimensions of the previous model were 158.2 x 76.7 x 8.2 mm, while the size is slightly larger at 161.1 x 77.4 x 8.2 mm. He is also heavier at 213g compared to 202g. The A55 5G also comes with a metal frame, unlike the plastic one on the A54 5G.
However, the back panel is reminiscent of the top model, with three protruding cameras in the top left corner. On the front, the bezels appear to have shrunk, especially on the bottom bezel.
The A55 5G continues to be IP67 certified. This means your phone is protected from temporary water immersion. However, the glass has been improved to Gorilla Glass Victus, which is more durable than the A54 5G’s Gorilla Glass 5.

Difference in display
Samsung has some of the best (if not the best) cell phone displays on the market. And that’s still the case even when we’re discussing the company’s more affordable phones. galaxy a55 5G.
Now, the company has increased the size from 6.4 inches on the A54 5G to 6.6 inches on the A55 5G.
The A55 5G’s display features 1080 x 2340 pixels, the same smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR10+ content. The new addition here is what Samsung calls Vision Booster, which aims to make the screen appear sharper and brighter in a variety of lighting conditions. Whether that means the A55 has higher peak brightness remains to be seen during display testing.
Other points worth mentioning are: galaxy a55 The 5G has slimmer bezels around the display compared to the A54 5G. This is especially true of the bottom bezel, which appears much thinner in comparison.
Performance and software
More power!
Samsung’s main focus with the A55 5G was on the performance segment, with the new and more powerful Exynos 1480 on board. Samsung hasn’t revealed how fast the new chip will be, but stay tuned to see the results during performance benchmarks and tests.
In addition to the new chip, one of the upgrades to the A55 5G is 12GB of RAM compared to the 8GB found in last year’s Galaxy A54 5G.
All memory and storage combinations for both phones are listed below.

The software update situation remains the same as last generation (even though seven years of software updates were expected). This means that you will get 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security patches, and the A55 5G can be used up to Android 18.

Suffice it to say, if you notice any improvement in image quality while recording photos or videos, it’s thanks to the new processor in the A55 5G. There are also some new advanced AI image signal processing (ISP) features that Samsung mentions in the announcement, which will apparently produce amazing low-light images never seen before on the Galaxy A series. .
Audio quality and haptics
Samsung hasn’t specified any changes to the mid-range speakers, but the A55 5G should offer pleasant audio quality from its dual-firing speakers. That’s at least what we got with the Galaxy A54 5G, apart from some distortion issues at maximum volume, especially for bass-heavy music and sounds. The tactile sensation should also be fine if it’s the same as its predecessor.
Battery life and charging
No changes on this front
Both galaxy a55 5G and A54 5G comes with a large 5,000mAh battery. If battery life changes in any way, it’s likely due to the new processor within the 2024 model, but we’ll provide more details once we complete our battery life tests on the A55 5G.
However, charging is definitely the same, as the maximum output is 25W (similar to the A54) and the same battery capacity has to be consumed.

summary
So basically, Samsung offered a new product galaxy a55 5G comes with a new processor, a slightly different look, and a slightly larger display and body. Whether this is worth a series of upgrades will largely depend on how good the processor is and whether the increased performance will have a meaningful impact on your camera system.
It’s a bit of a shame that the software doesn’t have extended support, but I was really hoping for an extended support period here to make this new generation more worth buying. Stay tuned for a full comparison with a more detailed view of camera, battery life, and display stats.
