US carrier Frontier Communications announced this week that it will launch a 7 Gbps broadband service across its entire FTTH range. Frontier said the upgrade follows the 2 Gbps and 5 Gbps services it previously rolled out. The new 7 Gbps service is powered by the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology and promises download and upload speeds that are up to 200 times faster than traditional cable.

Frontier 7 Gbps Service
Frontier reported that more than 60% of new fiber optic customers in the second quarter opted for speeds of 1 Gbps or higher, and more than half purchased at least one additional service requiring more bandwidth.

Price and included premium services
Priced at $299.99 per month with 12 months of autopay, the 7Gbps service includes free installation and a router valued at $899. Frontier says customers will also get access to enhanced Wi-Fi security, unlimited data and a range of premium services, including My Premium Tech Pro and three years of new technology upgrades.
