
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans to provide free Wi-Fi services in public parks in Peshawar.
This was decided at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. The meeting deliberated on further beautification of the state capital. CM Gandapur directed the authorities concerned to finalize the arrangement and present a plan for free WiFi services for approval by the state government.
He also said that the next step is to expand the service to other cities. Gandapur also directed the Peshawar Development Authority to prepare a beatification plan for the city.
At the meeting, it was decided to start bus rapid transit service on Nasir Bagh Road in Peshawar with a view to facilitating smooth movement of the people.
The prime minister has ordered the city’s street lights to be converted to solar power. He also called for the construction of an underpass instead of a viaduct. Gandapur directed immediate construction of remaining portion of Warsak-Nasir Bagh road.
He also ordered the completion of road repair works around the University Road BRT corridor. The Prime Minister directed that artificial plants be placed on all road corridors along with painting walls and head bridges with designs to promote KP’s culture.
