Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) caused an uproar on social media site X on Thursday after a post in which he suggested immigrants should be put on “Pinochet Airlines.” This is a reference to the Chilean dictator whose military abducted dissidents. He was taken out of a helicopter on a “death flight” over the Pacific Ocean.
“I don’t think it’s really great for a sitting member of Congress to call for people to be killed using the Pinochet regime’s preferred method of dropping people from helicopters.” I have written Thursday, MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes.

“I wonder why right-wingers aren’t outraged by President Trump’s authoritarian rhetoric, but they shouldn’t be.” I have written Pete Fuller, Democratic Party Chairman of Jackson County, Georgia; “The far right will want President Trump to assume dictatorial power and eliminate people who are inconvenient to them – as Nepobaby’s Mike Collins has shown.”
“Congressman Mike Collins of Georgia is literally threatening people with fascist violence.” I have written Newsletter writer “Ash J.”
Perhaps one of the most lively responses came from Collins himself. Posted His “Pinochet Air” post was removed for violating the X rules, his campaign account was temporarily locked, and then removed from his personal account.
”What is @Eron Musk telephone number is? ” Collins wrote. “Looks like he’s planning to lay off a few more people! Help! #FreeCollins. ”
