Shenzhen MilkV Technology’s Duo S is a small SBC based on a RISC-V SoC with 1 GHz Sophgo SG2000 Arm Cortex-A53 and 512MB DDR3 (SiP), Fast Ethernet, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5 connectivity, or RISC-V architecture before powering the board.
We have already talked about the SG2002 Arm/RISC-V boards with 256MB RAM, namely LicheeRV Nano and Duo 256M, but for users who need more memory, the Duo S has two 2-lane MIPI CSI connectors, It offers another option that also has USB 2.0. A host port and two 26-pin headers for expansion. Its form factor reminds us of FriendlyELEC’s NanoPi NEO and the family with Allwinner processors introduced a few years ago.

Linux and RTOS are said to be supported on the Duo S, and there is an OS image on GitHub built with buildroot for booting from a microSD card or eMMC flash. As of the current v1.0.9 image, Duo S does not yet support the WireringX (C) and pinpong (Python) GPIO libraries, nor has Arduino support been implemented. The latter means that eventually the board will be programmable like a microcontroller using his Arduino IDE, as is already possible with the Duo 256M with SG2002. The Duo S SBC is available from Arace for $12.99 with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 modules. Versions with eMMC flash or PoE support are currently not available. All versions of the board are available for pre-order at the Australia-based Platima Tinkers shop for between $11 and $20 depending on the model you order. Shipping is scheduled to begin on April 22, 2024. Please note that the Duo S is available in green and pink versions, and the color will be randomly selected during shipping.
