Now, you can see her, but some say you can’t see her.
Duchess Kate’s grand reappearance on social media after it was reported that she underwent abdominal surgery in January has royal watchers speculating whether newly released images of the princess post-surgery are actually real. Some people are calling the timely posting “damage control.”
The Princess of Wales, 42, posed with her three children for a Mother’s Day portrait, which was taken by her husband Prince William, 41, on Sunday with a message for the holiday. The royal family reportedly published the photo on their social media accounts.
“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the past two months. I wish everyone a happy Mother’s Day,” she wrote, ending Duchess Kate’s name with a “C”.
Fans online were eager to see Ms. C again – not to mention her wedding ring – as theories swirled during her disappearance from public life.
Vogue magazine’s Instagram page provided a snapshot of the myriad rumors currently surrounding the royal family.
“This is not a recent photo. She is still missing,” claimed @sanqfroid under a family portrait. And @pennyhbiondo said: “I think this is an old photo from her last Mother’s Day in 2023.”
@thefoxphoto mused, “So…this could have been taken a while ago. Lol, they’re just trying to do damage control.”
@saruchkameringue scoffed, “If you had all this money, you could do better Photoshop,” while @monicaleticia85 flatly wrote, “It’s like AI.”
Another peered deeply into the image, especially at the children. “This looks like an AI photo…not a dogma, but, well, this isn’t a real photo. Why don’t you look at Louis’ hands? What about their face/hair?” [I don’t know] It doesn’t seem real,” concluded @becks_bloomwood.
Some people pointed out inconsistencies in the photo, such as the unseasonably lush background.
I asked @feld_not_field, “Are there leaves or green grass at this time of year in the UK?”
At the same time, Kate’s followers wanted to know why she lost her family jewelry, especially her wedding ring.
Rumors from @michelemarbelle, “She ran away to her parents’ house – trouble in paradise (especially after the recent death/drug overdose of a royal friend who had W!)”
But fans of the royal family defended the princess’s privacy, with one saying: ‘@martinawatson09 This woman cannot recover peacefully and quietly like millions of other women are doing in their private lives. It’s very sad. The palace, the kingdom, or whatever, should be absolutely ashamed of it. Rest easy, Kate!”
The princess underwent abdominal surgery scheduled for January and had been officially out of public view since Christmas.
It was previously reported that Duchess Kate will return to royal duties after Easter on March 3, at the same time her uncle Gary Goldsmith, 58, is scheduled to appear on British show Celebrity Big Brother. That’s what it means.
Mr Goldsmith was asked about Mr Middleton’s whereabouts in a March 7 interview on British television.
“She doesn’t want to talk about it, so the last thing I’m going to do is… [talk about it]” he told fellow contestant Ekin-Su Çulçulol during the season 23 premiere of the show.
“There’s a certain code and etiquette. I’ll give my opinion when it’s announced.”
