On September 12, 2023, NIST will host a 6G Core Networks Workshop online and onsite at the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Rockville, Maryland.
The goal of this workshop is to discuss the transition from 5G to 6G ecosystem. This transition poses major challenges, as well as major economic, scientific, and social changes. It’s important to identify challenges, develop more rigorous key performance indicators, and find solutions. cCreate new standards as needed.
Specifically, the workshop will cover:
- Evolution of 5G service-based architectures and technologies (such as network slicing) to meet 6G needs
- Manage growing numbers of users, devices, and network traffic
- 6G Core Network Architecture and Automation
- Achieving end-to-end service and quality assurance
- The role of AI in the 6G core network and the realization of end-to-end services
- Manage differentiated and even customized network services
- Cloud and edge computing for 6G
- How open source and open testbeds can help advance 6G
- Make your 6G system more resilient
The morning session of the workshop will focus on the current situation, gaps and challenges. Afternoon sessions will consist of panel discussions on selected topics.Click here for workshop details and registration online.
