Lakers fans weren’t happy with Dillon Brooks’ antics during LeBron James and others’ disappointing loss to the Rockets.
Dillon Brooks has always made a living by being a nuisance to LeBron James. Brooks once again embarrasses James and the Lakers into submission as the Houston Rockets host the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night and pick up an emotional win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. I took a chance. Rockets won by -119.
Brooks is back to his usual shenanigans staring at James in his continued effort to acquire and keep the Lakers star. In particular, the feisty Rockets defender appeared to punch James in the face during one play, and the Lakers star immediately fell to the ground in pain. Additionally, after Brooks made a difficult lean midrange jumper over King in the fourth quarter, he stared at Brooks on his way back to the other side of the floor.
Lakers fans are tired of Dillon Brooks’ antics. The blowout loss to the Rockets didn’t help Purple & Gold supporters, but after Brooks took the lead with another lopsided win at home against LeBron James and co. seemed incredibly annoyed.
One fan said, “I’m not even a LeBron fan, but Dillon says he’s gonna fuck you up after the game.” I have written.
Dillon Brooks comes from a long line of non-star players who tried to mix with LeBron James. The Rockets’ wings are following in the footsteps of Deshaun Stephenson and Lance Stephenson. These two players are of similar stature who did their best to win the psychological battle against the Lakers star.
Brooks also sees himself as he embraces the role of villain on a Rockets team that leans into their identity as a rugged, gritty unit that prioritizes team defense. And can he end the season series with an edge against James and the Lakers? This should put a smile on his face as he continues to battle for a spot in the play-in tournament in a packed Western Conference.
