The Belgian capital, Brussels, will finally launch a course to launch a 5G service, and will be released this September.
Until now, the city has effectively blocked the city’s services for strict radiation rules, and has stopped the 5G pilot in 2019 just for concern.
However, according to the Belgian paper L’Echo, it will be changed as a presidential decree that allows the 5G antenna to develop the 5G antenna.
This early this year, following the Congress approval, alleviated the strict restrictions on the city’s wireless frequency discharge.
Belgian three mobile network operators. Proximus, Telenet, and Orange submit a permission application to the Regional Environment Bureau, which will be granted within 30 days.
Once the operator receives approval, the existing antenna in the city must be upgraded from 4G to 5g. The publication is expected to take several days for this operation, and has reported that the highest population density area in the capital area has been given priority.
Since it is necessary to develop additional antennas to existing sites to meet the demand, it may take another year for the whole capital to acquire a 5G coverage.
Orange has already installed 3.5GHz antennas on some Brussels sites. Telenet and Proximus have not yet developed 5G equipment, but we hope to gradually develop the network this year.
