Asus has unveiled its latest motherboard lineup featuring AMD’s 800-series chipsets for Ryzen 9000 CPUs at Gamescom 2024. The company offers these new motherboards across its entire motherboard lineup, catering to the needs of everyone from everyday users to the most extreme overclockers looking to get the most out of their AMD processors.
Aside from compatibility with AM5 chips, Asus is also touting several AI features, including AI Overclocking, AI Cooling II, and AI Networking II. These AI technologies are said to offer one-click optimization, eliminating the need for users to go through the trial-and-error testing of creating manual profiles to get the most out of their PC builds.

While the AMD Ryzen 9000 chips are compatible with current X670E motherboards, allowing users to upgrade to the new processors with just a BIOS upgrade, the X870 and X870E motherboards have even more features to make the most of the new chips. These include PCIe 5.0 for both GPU and SSD slots, two USB4 ports, and more. Asus motherboards with the X870E come with two chipsets, meaning extra PCIe lanes are available on these models. All Asus X870E / X870 motherboards with WiFi also come with the new WiFi 7 standard, giving users faster wireless internet.
Aside from the AI features, the new Asus motherboards also come with advanced features that allow you to tune your CPU’s performance on the fly, including Dynamic OC Switchers, which automatically switches between AMD’s Precision Boost Overdrive and manual overclocking settings depending on the performance you need, and Core Flex, which allows you to adjust core frequencies depending on your CPU temperature and voltage.
