ASUS has released its next-generation WiFi 7 routers and adapters, enhancing both wired and wireless internet connections to deliver faster internet speeds and lower latency.
ASUS introduces dual-band and tri-band WiFi 7 speeds with new ROG Rapture routers, also shows off latest adapters
At Gamescom, ASUS unveiled three cutting-edge devices that support WiFi 7: triple-band and dual-band routers and adapters that bring high-bandwidth WiFi 7 support to the masses, enabling next-gen wired and wireless performance and low latency for competitive gaming.
With support for WiFi 7 coming to Windows 11 at the end of 2024, the new adapters and routers will offer up to 2.4x faster speeds and up to 73% greater coverage than WiFi 6, enhancing users’ gaming experience. The new lineup includes the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 router, ASUS RT-BE86U router and ASUS ROG USB-BE92 USB WiFi7 adapter.
ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE19000
ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 is the successor to the current generation Rapture series that supports WiFi 6E, instead offering tri-band WiFi 7 speeds of up to 19Gbps. Wired bandwidth is significantly increased to up to 31Gbps, and it also offers various WAN options, such as AI WAN detection on 2.5G and 10G LAN ports. Additionally, the router also supports 4G LTE and 5G mobile tethering.
This tri-band router offers 320MHz channels in the 6GHz band along with multi-link operation. Additionally, it also supports 4096-QAM for improved network capacity and throughput. 4096-QAM provides a 20% increase in data rates compared to WiFi 6’s 1024-QAM, resulting in faster and more reliable WiFi coverage.
GT-BE19000 allows you to manage up to 5 SSIDs, set up IoT devices, configure VPN and parental controls via Guest Network Pro, and also supports Triple Level Game Acceleration which prioritizes game data packets to ensure a reliable connection to game servers, while AiProtection Pro ensures robust security.
ASUS RT-BE86U
The RT-BE86U also supports WiFi 7 bandwidth, but like the Rapture GT-BE1900, it offers dual-band throughput of up to 6Gbps with multi-link operation and 4096QAM. The router comes with four 2.5G LAN ports and one 10G LAN port that support a total bandwidth of up to 20Gbps. It offers similar connectivity, including AI WAN discovery, 4G LTE, and 5G mobile tethering over USB.
One of the notable features of the RT-BE86U is its 2.6GHz quad-core processor, which can handle heavy applications while maintaining up to 30% power efficiency compared to the RT-AX86U. Not only is this processor more efficient, it also has a higher clock speed and higher wired capacity than the latter router’s CPU.
ASUS ROG USB-BE92
For those who don’t want to compromise on range and speed, ASUS has introduced the ROG USB-BE92 USB WiFi 7 adapter, which supports tri-band connectivity and can achieve speeds of up to 6500Mbps. It offers 3.6x faster performance than WiFi 6 adapters and features enhanced security with WPA3 support. It’s compatible with both Windows 10 and 11 and supports USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 Type-C and Type-A connections for versatility.
