According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple is in talks with Google to license its Gemini artificial intelligence engine to iPhone makers and integrate it into iPhones.
Gemini is Google’s suite of generative AI tools, from chatbots to coding assistants.
Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the matter, that the two tech giants are “in active negotiations” to equip Gemini with certain new features expected to be released into iPhone software later this year. It was reported.
Apple may announce iOS 18, the latest OS for iPhone, at June’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference.
Apple also recently held talks with OpenAI and is considering using its model, according to people cited by Bloomberg.
However, the report said, “The parties have not determined the terms or brand of the AI Agreement, nor have they finalized how it will be implemented.”
Apple and Google did not immediately respond to CNBC’s requests for comment.
