Alaska Airlines has created a new subscription-based service that offers benefits to subscribers and value-conscious consumers.
Alaska Access is a $5-per-month service that gives users access to frequent flyer features such as monthly coupons for in-flight Wi-Fi, advanced notifications of major fare sales, and a personalized calendar filled with the lowest fares for your favorite destinations. The company already offers another popular subscription service called FlightPass. The service allows travelers to pay a fixed monthly fee for a fixed number of round-trip flights throughout California, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.
Company officials say consumer demand for “personalized and customized experiences” has increased since launching FlightPass in 2022.
Shane Jones, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of business development, said Alaska Airlines considered customers’ busy lives and valuable time constraints when developing Alaska Access.
“Alaska Access is part of our commitment to make travel more affordable and convenient for everyone, whether you’re planning your dream vacation or returning home from college,” Jones said. stated in a news release. “With our new subscription service, you can find this year’s best deals instantly, in just minutes.”
The company says it is already seeing strong demand from travelers who plan and book their trips months in advance. When you sign up for the service, you’ll receive special alerts about big sales the night before they open to the public, allowing you to book your trip and choose your seats before anyone else.
The service also offers monthly one-time codes for free WiFi on Alaska Airlines flights. Also, a personalized fare calendar allows you to sort flights to his 500+ destinations around the world by price and points.
