One of Valerie’s favorite things to do on her lunch break, as a software engineer, is visit One of a Kind Pet Rescue and play with the cats.
According to a viral Reddit post, one cat’s reaction to Valerie broke her heart.
Tinkerbell, the grey cat, doesn’t play well with other cats, but she has become very good friends with Valerie.
Heartbroken dog’s reaction to new puppy has internet in tears
When the two first met, Tinker Bell landed on Valerie’s shoulder and then moved onto her lap.
At a later meeting, Tinkerbell sat on Valerie’s lap and growled when she tried to move.
“I noticed she was moaning as I was moving, so I assumed she was in pain,” Valerie explained to Newsweek.
“I was worried so I picked her up to examine her and her claws came out. I discovered she was growling every time she was moved from my lap!”
Valerie soon realized that Tinker Bell did not want to let her go.
Reddit users want this woman to adopt a cuddly rescue cat
Amazed by the animal’s reaction of clinging to Valerie, many Reddit users wished Valerie would just drop everything and adopt Tinkerbell right away.
Although Valerie thought the cat’s reaction when she held it was adorable, she could never imagine owning a Tinker Bell.
Valerie already has three cats at home and doesn’t want to add a cat to her family that doesn’t play well with the others.
“She may thrive in a home with one cat rather than one with multiple cats, so we want to give her a chance to be adopted by a home that doesn’t already have a cat,” Valerie explained.
Still, Valerie hasn’t completely written off the idea of keeping Tinkerbell: If no one wants the cute grey feline in the next few months, she says she’ll consider introducing her to the other cats in her household.
