NAMPA, ID (Statesman) — Nampa police are searching for a missing 12-year-old girl who may have met up with a stranger she met online.
Peyton Marietta was last seen by her family early Friday morning at her home in the Ranch subdivision near Caldwell Avenue and North Midland Avenue in Nampa, her mother, Ali Devonne, told the Idaho Statesman. told the paper.
“Her family is concerned that she may be connecting with unknown adults online and staying with them,” Nampa Police Department posted on social media.
Devonne said after her daughter went missing, she turned to her daughter’s cell phone for clues. She told the Statesman in a message that Devonne was unable to unlock her phone, but she could see the dating site’s notifications on the locked screen. Devonne said she and her husband created fake accounts on the website and found her daughter’s profile, which claimed her daughter was 18 years old.
The mother said she found it difficult to wake up in the morning, knowing it meant another day without her daughter.
“Every night before I go to bed I want to say ‘good night’ to her. I love her and she’s not here to do that,” Devonne wrote in a message to The Statesman. He spoke at

“Remember, no matter what situation you’re in, nothing will change my love for you,” Devonne said. “And I’ll be here! I’ll be waiting for you.”
Most of the family is off work and looking for Peyton. Devonne’s friend Maxie Smith created a verified GoFundMe for her to support her family and help with lost income during the search for Peyton. Devonne works at her local restaurant and they have been “doing everything in her power to find her,” according to her fundraiser.
Devonne said she gave Peyton’s cell phone to police as part of the investigation. Peyton’s last email to her mother was to express her gratitude and tell her she loved “my beautiful mom.”
The Nampa Police Department said it did not have any updates on Payton’s case as of Tuesday afternoon.
Police said Peyton is 5 feet, 0.5 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds, and has brown eyes and dark red hair. Nampa Police asked anyone with information regarding Payton’s disappearance to call the department at 208-465-2257 (option 1).
