Asia-based Buffalo is set to release its latest Wi-Fi 7 router, the WXR18000BE10P, which represents a significant advancement in wireless networking technology. This product is scheduled to go on sale in early February 2024, and is the first domestic router to receive his Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 certification.
WXR18000BE10P supports tri-band functionality operating in 6GHz, 5GHz, and 2.4GHz bands. A notable enhancement is that the 6GHz band bandwidth has been expanded from 160MHz to 320MHz, allowing for a theoretical maximum communication speed of 11,529Mbps. This router also offers great speeds on the 5 GHz band, with theoretical maximum speeds of 5,764 Mbps and 688 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. Multi-link operation (MLO) functionality allows you to use all three bands simultaneously, delivering real-world data transfer speeds of over 13Gbps.
In addition to these features, the WXR18000BE10P supports the Wi-Fi EasyMesh standard defined by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This compatibility enables the creation of mesh networks and facilitates extensive wireless coverage throughout your home. Utilizing the 6 GHz band for the backhaul of the Wi-Fi EasyMesh system ensures stable communication and clean connectivity between mesh controllers and agents.
The router is equipped with a variety of interfaces, including one 10 Gigabit LAN port, three Gigabit LAN ports, and one 10 Gigabit WAN port. Its security features include various protocols such as WPA3 Personal, WPA2 Personal, WPA/WPA2 Personal, WPA2/WPA3 Personal, and WEP (128-bit/64-bit). Additional security measures include Deny Any Connection, Privacy Separator, MAC Access Restrictions, and you can enroll up to 64 devices.
The external dimensions of the WXR18000BE10P are width 300mm, height 195mm, depth 75mm, and weight approximately 1,700g. Buffalo offers a 1 year warranty on this model. The pricing strategy uses an open price model, and the market price is expected to be around $400.
