Fabless Semiconductor Firm Mobix Labs announced a strategic partnership with Talkingheads Wireless (THW) this week to develop a cost-effective, energy-efficient 5G base station.
No time slots were given when the 5G base station was deployed.
THW’s 5G radio solutions, which leverage AI technology, are used to optimize tower energy consumption.
Meanwhile, Mobix specializes in developing connectivity solutions for MMWAVE 5G and high-bandwidth cable networks. Our product portfolio includes integrated circuits, antennas, active optical cables, and transceivers.
The partnership follows the acquisition of Mobix’s Rage Systems last month. Rage is a provider of radio frequency joint design and manufacturing services.
“THW signed with Rage Systems to help develop a solution that significantly reduces power consumption at base stations and cuts energy costs for 5G towers by half,” Mobix said in an announcement this week.
“This exciting collaboration with Talkingheads Wireless highlights our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability in 5G technology,” added Fabian Battaglia, CEO of Mobix Labs.
“Rage Systems’ proven track record and THW’s visionary leadership are poised to make significant advancements in energy-efficient 5G infrastructure.”
