Press Release: Dang Hong Qi Tian has partnered with ZTE, China Mobile, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Xiaomi to bring free-roaming immersive VR games based on ZTE’s 5G-A minimalist private network to the public at ChinaJoy 2024.
This project will utilize the mmWave test phone Xiaomi 14 Pro, equipped with Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon X75 (the world’s first 5G Advanced-enabled modem-RF system that supports a number of advanced 5G-A features), as the terminal device, providing new impetus to accelerate the exploration and application of 5G-A mmWave in the entertainment sector.
The project is currently being implemented at the SoReal Sci-Fi Park in Beijing Shougang Park, and will be gradually promoted across the country and overseas in the future.
The highlight of the free-roaming immersive VR game was ZTE’s 5G-A minimalist private network, deployed in collaboration with China Mobile. The network can be easily deployed with only 5G-A BBU acting as a proxy for the core network. The upgrade uses a BBU-embedded board that enhances the reliability of VR services through ultra-high computing power. In addition, the MiCell solution, the industry’s first mmWave micro base station with IF pooling, significantly reduces costs and power consumption. In addition, intelligent beamforming for user tracking ensures uninterrupted connectivity, which is essential for user movement in large spaces. The 5G-A minimalist private network also has a customized XR-dedicated solution that ensures end-to-end reliability of VR services. The network achieves an average air interface latency of less than 10 milliseconds with simultaneous access of more than 100 VR users, allowing them to enjoy unparalleled interactive experiences.
