Samsung has released the August 2024 security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the United States. Many other high-end smartphones from the Korean company have also already received this new update.

Android’s latest security patch is now rolling out to factory unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2. Both smartphones receive the August 2024 security patch, which fixes around 50 security holes in the previous software version.
Galaxy Z Flip 5G update comes with firmware version translation: Available on the Sprint network in the US, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is getting a new security update with firmware version 1.0.1. Model numberand is available domestically on the AT&T and Sprint networks.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 were launched in mid-2020 with Android 10. None of these devices will receive the Android 15 update later this year.
