Cabin crew who catered to passengers’ special requests during flights have been hailed as “angels on earth”.
The moment was captured on TikTok by Sabrina (@sabrinamahadzir), a flight attendant for Malaysia Airlines, and the video has been viewed more than 617,000 times since it was posted on July 30, according to the hashtags she included with the post.
A message overlaid on the clip reads: “POV [point of view]A passenger asks you to do a “French twist” [hairstyle] For her.”
In the caption accompanying the post, the flight attendant commented, “It was a long flight and my job was done so why not?”
The footage shows a flight attendant standing in the aisle of the plane, brushing the hair of a seated female passenger while tying it back in place, before the woman is seen putting her hair up and standing next to the flight attendant, smiling.
Another note overlaid on the video reads, “When I say I love serving people, I mean it wholeheartedly.”
Flight attendant jobs ranked 48thNumber In this year’s edition of U.S. News & World Report’s annual “100 Best Jobs,” the profession was ranked third among the highest-paying jobs that don’t require a degree, and fifth among the best social work jobs and best jobs that don’t require a college degree.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of flight attendants is projected to grow 11% from 2022 to 2032, a rate of growth that’s “much faster than the average for all occupations.”
“Over the next decade, an average of approximately 16,600 flight attendant job openings are projected to open each year. Many of these openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who are leaving the labor market for other occupations or due to retirement,” the BLS says.
