Justice Farooq questioned the current state of internet speed in the country.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – While hearing a case regarding slow internet speed, Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Amer Farooq has sought clarification on the matter before issuing any order.
Justice Farooq questioned the current state of internet speed in the country and sought a clarification of the situation.
He asked which ministry was responsible for the issue and suggested seeking information from the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) or the Ministry of Information Technology to understand the cause of the slowdown.
Advocate Iman Mazari, representing the petitioners, informed the court that the PTA has maintained silence on the matter.
Justice Farooq then asked whether the Chief Secretary or the Deputy Chief Secretary should be summoned, while the lawyers requested that senior officials of the ministries concerned be summoned.
The Chief Justice agreed that a person knowledgeable on the issue could be summoned to explain the matter to the court.
The IHC subsequently issued notices to the parties involved and adjourned the hearing till Monday.
