Ashburn, Virginia – Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Division, Ashburn, Virginia, is installing the AXN/PCM/401 data acquisition system for use in demanding flight test programs.
The IRIG-106 High Speed Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) Decoder and Merger/Packetizer module uses a clock line or self-clocking code to simultaneously combine information from one or two IRIG-106 PCM streams or combine them into industry standard packets.
The clocked line mode operates at 40 Mbits/sec and the self-clocked code operates at 20 Mbits/sec. Data from each stream is passed separately to a minor frame buffer which the system reads consistently over the backplane.

AXN/PCM/401 supports all PCM line codes and data rates up to 40 megabits per second, enabling flight test engineers to integrate data captured by legacy third-party PCM subsystems into modern, networked FTI data acquisition systems.
The PCM Decoder and Merger module can packetize industry standard PCM formats as well as select individual parameters from legacy PCM streams. AXN/PCM/401 is ideal for flight testing including fast jet, missile and eVTOL testing.
