Samsung Galaxy A25 5G review: Beyond your budget
At this point, Samsung’s cheap phones aren’t going to be any more reliable.
How to Fix Common Samsung Issues
All Samsung smartphones have issues, and some of them are common to all smartphones. Before we dive into specific issues with your Galaxy A25 5G, make sure you know the common Samsung Galaxy issues. While using your Galaxy A25 5G, you may notice the following:
- Your mobile, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi connection is intermittent or unusually slow.
- Notification will be delayed.
- Battery life will decrease rapidly.
- The device frequently becomes uncomfortably hot.
- The app freezes while in use or crashes when opened.
There is no single solution for each of these issues, so if you’re experiencing any of them, try these fixes.
Galaxy A25 5G screen brightness changes frequently
Fix: Disable adaptive brightness
Fluctuations in your Galaxy A25 5G’s battery life can be caused by constantly changing screen brightness levels. While the Adaptive Brightness feature can help with constantly changing light levels, manually setting your phone’s brightness can help make your phone’s battery life more stable. Here’s how to change the setting:
- open setting App.
- Scroll down and tap screen.
- Switch Adaptive Brightness Turn off the switch.
- Manually set the brightness level (50% recommended).
Apps crash, your phone slows down, or other sudden and unexplained changes occur
Check for software updates
Samsung’s regular software updates can fix software issues on your Galaxy smartphone. Your phone will prompt you to install them from time to time, but here’s how to check for them manually.
- open setting App.
- Tap Software Updates.
- Tap Download and install.
Certain features or components of the Samsung Galaxy A25 are not working properly
Run the diagnostic tool
You can access the diagnostic tools through the Samsung Members app. There are multiple tools for different functions of your phone. Here’s how to run them on your Galaxy A25 5G:
- open Samsung Member App.
- Tap support It’s in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Tap phone diagnosis.
- Tap any feature to run a diagnostic tool.
As you run each diagnostic tool, the app suggests appropriate actions to resolve the issue.
Intermittent poor performance
For $300, don’t expect lightning-fast speeds from the Galaxy A25 5G. Even if you are prepared for speeds like that, you might be disappointed by the phone’s slow performance. I also experienced slow loading screens during setup, but that’s to be expected with an Exynos 1280 processor with 6GB of RAM.
This means that when your phone’s performance slows down, your frustrations will grow exponentially, and if you want to use your A25 5G for as long as possible, you’ll want to keep it in tip-top condition until 2028, when Samsung stops updating it.
The RAM Plus feature is one of the biggest causes of poor performance on Samsung phones. We recommend turning off RAM Plus immediately, as you’ll see an immediate performance boost. For long-term performance gains, follow these tips:
- Regularly uninstall apps you are not using.
- Speeds up system animations. This won’t improve your phone’s performance, but it can create a convincing illusion that your phone is faster.
- If you use the Lite edition of the app, it will load faster.
- Update your phone regularly.
- Disable apps from running in the background, especially those that use data.
If the issue persists then you should factory reset your phone.
Facial recognition is inconsistent
Consider switching to fingerprint authentication
The Samsung Galaxy A25 5G offers biometric login via face and fingerprint. However, in our testing, we found that facial recognition was slow and required us to stare at the screen more than necessary. There’s no direct way to fix this other than following some tips to improve the phone’s performance.
For stress-free biometric login, use the fingerprint sensor in the power button – the fastest way to unlock your phone.
Bloatware fills up already limited storage
Uninstall or disable preloaded apps
The Galaxy A25 5G comes with 128GB of storage, which is mediocre and is further diminished by Samsung preloading apps onto your phone, an issue that can be exacerbated by carriers adding apps or installing them without your knowledge.
To avoid running out of storage after using your A25 5G for a few weeks, uninstall all apps you don’t need after setting up the phone. Especially if you bought your phone from Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, uninstall them immediately as these companies install apps without your knowledge through the app manager.

Notifications are delayed or not delivered
Configure and allow notifications for individual apps in the Settings menu
While delayed notifications are often due to network or performance issues, the cause could be a feature of your Galaxy A25 5G. Samsung phones have a deep sleep setting for apps you’re not using, which can help extend battery life, but will mute notifications until you open the app. If there are apps you don’t want to miss notifications from, tell your phone to allow notifications for individual apps.
- open setting App.
- Tap Apps.
- Select the apps you want to receive notifications from at all times.
- Tap notification.
- Turn on Allow notifications switch.
Get the most out of your Samsung phone on a budget
The Galaxy A25 5G is one of the most affordable Android smartphones out there. Yet, despite its great value, you may have to deal with the issues we’ve discussed in this article. If none of these fixes solve the problem with your Samsung smartphone, it may be time to replace the battery. This action is a last resort, but it could breathe new life into your smartphone. Before replacing it, first check your smartphone’s warranty.

$250 $300 Save $50
Samsung’s Galaxy A25 5G is competitively priced, but does its best to offer premium features at the lower end. Features like an AMOLED screen and a 50MP triple camera array aren’t common at sub-$500 retail prices, much less the A25’s $300 price point. On the software side, photo editing tools like Single Take and Object Eraser add more value, making this one of the cheaper options launching in the US.
