Google’s Nest Wifi Pro offers an easy-to-use home network setup, but like previous generations, it seems prone to random issues from time to time. Recently, some Nest Wifi Pro owners have been noticing mesh connection issues and slower speeds that appear to be related to a recent update.
Software version 3.73.406133, which began rolling out in late March and was rolled out more widely in May and June, appears to be causing some issues for Nest Wifi Pro owners, specifically causing Nest Wifi Pro networks to operate slower and causing problems with the mesh connection between router points.
One of the other major issues is related to Matter devices and other smart home features, with the Printer service also not working properly for many affected users. This began after the previous update, 3.71.40613, caused many Matter devices to disconnect.
Another notable issue after the update was with Nanoleaf’s lights, enough so that Google published troubleshooting steps, which Nanoleaf said should be fixed with a new update to the product.
Google first acknowledged these various issues on their forums back in April and promised to fix them, but as evidenced by the many threads on Google’s forums and Reddit, many people are still experiencing problems today.
In at least some cases, rebooting the network seems to temporarily fix the problem — something I noticed recently on my own Nest Wifi Pro network — but after a few days or so, the issues start happening again.
Eventually, a new update will likely be needed to resolve these issues, but it’s unclear if Google will do anything about it anytime soon.
Have you been experiencing any issues with your Nest Wifi Pro lately?
Thank you, Devon!
