To mark Independence Day, Qualcomm Technologies has announced that it will offer free 5G training programs to professionals across India.
Qualcomm Academy 5G University Program
The initiative allows any resident of India to enrol in the Qualcomm Academy 5G university programme, which is usually aimed at university students. While it is free for students, industry professionals typically pay Rs 41,000 for the training.
Designed for students, engineers and business professionals, the program offers eight hours of online, self-paced learning on 5G technology led by leading engineers from Qualcomm Technologies.

Introduction to 5G
This course provides a foundational understanding of 5G technology and its strategic applications. Participants will gain an understanding of:
- Fundamentals of Wireless and Cellular Communications
- 5G NR (New Radio) Evolution and Vision
- 5G enabling technologies such as advanced channel coding, massive MIMO and mobile mmWave
- Key network functions and real-world applications such as smart cities and C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything)
Cellular Communications and 5G Fundamentals
This course covers the fundamentals of cellular communications and 5G. It covers:
- Overview of Wireless and Cellular Communications
- Technology evolution from 4G LTE to 5G
- Key features and use cases of 5G
