The Internet posts its best memes in response to the ending of Alien: Romulus

Shocking Alien: Romulus While the ending may have been intended to strike fear into the hearts of the audience, the internet struck back with some amazing memes. This is the ninth movie in the series and it represents a return to live-action effects, extreme horror, and the premise of a group of lone warriors trying to survive the Xenomorphs. While the majority of the movie is bloody and brutal, Alien: Romulus The ending features a new xenomorph hybrid, a terrifying pregnancy, and multiple deaths.

While many found the ending horrifying, others took to the internet to discuss every twist and turn. Viewers took to Twitter to air their reactions and created memes to capture the puzzling moment. Here are some of the memes:

Practical effectiveness and a scary concept are the roots of success

As Twitter users have attested, the third act has many Alien: Romulus‘ has been met with rave reviews. The film features a major turning point with the deaths of five of the seven main cast members, and the final act features many more such deaths, the most horrifying of which comes after Kay unintentionally gives birth to a xenomorph hybrid. As she lies dying, Kay forces her child to drink her blood, which is enough to make for a memorable third act in itself.

The live-action special effects make this movie a stunning piece of work, instead of relying on CGI like previous movies. Coach Fede Alvarez has chosen to take advantage of the practical element Wherever possible, this theme led to the development of animatronic Xenomorphs, allowing for more realistic reactions from the actors. The entire cast now interacts with life-sized Xenomorphs, making every action even more chilling. The fast pace creates fear as well, with characters racing through the final act, barely giving the audience a chance to catch their breath.

The realism of horror definitely plays a role, too. Rather than joining forces to fight the Xenomorphs, characters face tough choices along the way: Luke must fight his own Prime Directive to protect the experimental program, Andy fights to protect Rain, who chooses to prioritize the synthetic Andy over his own safety. The human element gives weight to every instance of death and survival. The film is often bloody, but it’s the relationships that make the blood mean something.
