The long summer days are getting shorter, but this time of year brings good news: end of season and late summer sales.
Here are some of the top discounted items Consumer Reports recommends you keep an eye on this month’s Best Buy.
“This August, sales will be focused on back-to-school shopping, so if you’re looking for tech for the kids or stuff for their dorms, you’ll find all of those items on sale all month long,” Samantha Gordon of Consumer Reports said.

If you prefer something sleeker, opt for a tablet: The Apple iPad is available for as low as $299.99 at Amazon (list price $349), and it’s the 2022 model that performed best in CR’s performance, photo, and video tests.
A mesh WiFi network allows you to efficiently complete homework and other tasks throughout your home. The TP-Link Deco Whole Home (3-Pack) is available on Amazon for as low as $129.99 (list price $189).
“Don’t forget Labor Day early next month, our sales are just around the corner. Sales will begin around mid-August with big discounts on seasonal items like mattresses, large appliances and grills,” Gordon said.
The Blackstone Flat Top Grill is priced as low as $249.99 on Amazon, and according to CR, the 28-inch flat top maintains an even temperature across the entire surface whether you’re using low or high heat.
