The all-new, completely redesigned Gold Series 6G has been revealed in every detail, with the manufacturer saying that Monitor Audio Group is now offering its finest and most exciting range yet in its eponymous Gold Series speaker series.
Described as a comprehensive, flexible and user-friendly range, the Gold Series 6G comprises six distinctive speakers, each model responding to clearly defined user requirements, adding innovative acoustic technologies and crafted to celebrate and exude the uniqueness and quality customers have come to expect from the Gold Series.
Building on over 30 years of heritage, Monitor Audio says the Gold Series 6G represents the start of an epic new chapter and a new way to experience the joy of sensational sound.
Acoustic Innovation
Monitor Audio’s Gold Series has a long history of introducing innovative acoustic technologies, and this sixth generation is no exception. The Gold Series 6G boasts an all-new metal cone technology called Hexagonal Diaphragm Technology (HDT). HDT employs the RDT III cone found in the groundbreaking Hyphn and flagship Platinum Series 3G, which is constructed with a Nomex honeycomb layer sandwiched between aluminum and carbon fiber skins. The HDT cone employs a new hexagonal pattern that breaks the symmetry in the cone split, creating a cone that shifts frequency by 10% compared to the RST II cone found in the Silver Series 7G.
The new cone also features Monitor Audio’s proprietary C-CAM technology, which the manufacturer claims results in a stronger, more fatigue-resistant cone compared to standard aluminum designs. As a result, the new HDT, C-CAM cone is one of the strongest, most piston-like cones Monitor Audio has ever developed.
New HDT, C-CAM cones are used across the range, including a new 3-inch mid-frequency driver, a 6-inch mid-bass unit, and 6-inch and 8-inch bass drivers.
In addition to the HDT and C-CAM cones, key acoustic features include:
- An improved version of Monitor Audio’s MPD III (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) transducer used in both the Hyphn and Platinum Series. This bespoke design delivers accurate high frequency sound with improved consistency, clarity and precision. The level of detail achieved makes your music sound more lifelike, crisper and more realistic.
- The Gold Series 6G crossovers are optimised for in-room performance, which is especially important for the new On-Wall 6G models, a typical use case closer to custom installations than traditional Hi-Fi.
Cabinet Design
All Gold Series 6G cabinets are engineered to form the most rigid structure possible, allowing the drivers to perform at their best. Top trim detail on the 100 and 500 models allows the MPD III high frequency transducers to be placed at the top of the cabinet, optimizing cabinet edge diffraction on these larger models. This results in consistent and precise imaging across the entire frequency range.
The new Gold Series 6G is the first to feature engineered ebony veneer, offering the quality and luster of real ebony but with significantly reduced carbon impact compared to traditional natural wood veneer manufacturing methods. High gloss black and satin white finishes add a contemporary edge, making the Gold Series 6G suitable for any environment.

Gold 50 6G
The Gold 50 6G is a compact, high-fidelity bookshelf speaker. Its modest size, combined with the ST-2 speaker stand, makes it the most flexible of the Gold Series 6G models when it comes to placement in your listening environment. Designed to house the latest MPD III high frequency transducer and a powerful 6″ bass mid driver, both of which benefit from the latest HDT, C-CAM cone technology and an extremely powerful motor system.
Gold on Wall 6G
The Gold On-Wall 6G is a new and highly flexible addition to the Gold Series 6G range. Its slim profile makes it an excellent rear and side channel AV speaker, but also suitable for wall mountable front LCR (Left-Center-Right) applications, making it a powerful home cinema speaker. It features the latest MPD III high frequency transducer and a powerful 6″ bass mid driver utilizing the latest HDT, C-CAM cone technology and powerful motor system.
Gold C250 6G
The Gold C250 6G is a compact 3-way centre channel speaker with the latest HDT, C-CAM cone, powerful motor system, latest MPD III high frequency transducer and 3-inch mid frequency driver that delivers highly realistic and detailed reproduction of vocals and dynamic parts in film music and soundtracks.

Monitor Audio says the Gold Series 6G is built on an R&D philosophy of balancing design and technology.
