In his Independence Day address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi said a huge market was emerging in the gaming world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday outlined the vision and the need to create games in India instead of relying on foreign companies, adding that India is working on a “mission mode” and is gearing up for the rollout of 6G.

Addressing the nation on Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi said a huge market was emerging in the gaming world.
“We see a huge market emerging in the gaming world. But even today, the influence in gaming and the profits from game production are mainly held by foreign companies. India has a rich tradition and can bring new talent to the gaming world. Games made in India can attract kids all over the world. We want Indian kids, Indian youth, Indian IT experts, Indian AI experts to lead the gaming world,” he said.

He said the company is gearing up for the rollout of 6G following the “rapid expansion” of 5G in the country.
“We are already working in 6G mission mode and our progress will amaze the world, I can say that with confidence,” he said.
Modi envisioned leveraging India’s resources and skilled workforce to transform India into a global manufacturing hub. He praised India’s indigenous design capabilities, called for production to cater to both domestic and international markets, and coined the phrase “Design for India, Design for the World.”
PM Modi also spoke about India’s semiconductor industry’s mission and making Indian-made products “available to the world at competitive prices.”
