V5GE is the first Virtual Internet app for Apple iOS
Extend V5G global services and brand to Apple
V5GE and V5G target different environments and user needs
Singapore and San Jose, California, May 1, 2024 April 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Virtual Internet has announced Virtual 5G for Apple platforms.
V5GE is the first virtual internet app for the Apple ecosystem and the first V5G service for Apple.
V5GE will initially be available for iOS, Apple’s operating system for iPhones, with support for MacOS and iPadOS planned for future releases.
V5G enables 5G services on any generation of phone, any network, any provider, and now any smartphone platform operating system.
Although initially designed to run on Android, the virtual 5G services provided through V5GE are now also available on Apple platforms. V5GE is already in a global pre-GA (general availability) release through the Apple Developer Program.
apple
After years of not being in the top 10, Apple briefly rose to become the world’s number one smartphone seller by shipments, and is now in second place (1st (Q4 2024) Given this growing market share, Virtual Internet has decided that now is the right time to extend its V5G global network to Apple users.
iOS
The iPhone is Apple’s best selling product. Apple (non-Android phones) has about 20% of the global market, and about 80% of the world uses Android.
iOS was chosen as Apple’s initial support because Apple designed macOS and iPadOS to look and feel similar to iOS.
5G service is a feature of the network, not just the phone, and new iPhones typically focus on device-specific features (such as the camera), so it’s a great opportunity for iPhone users to have access to the world’s leading 5G global expanding mobile broadband network.
Car Play and Android Auto
V5G is already designed to work with Android Auto, and Apple Car Play is similarly designed to work as an option alongside Android Auto in cars. V5GE is purposefully designed to offer advanced services beyond Apple that device manufacturers and smartphone operating systems alone cannot provide.
With net neutrality (ISPs being unable to provide enhanced service to certain sites or services) now a global policy, practice and unintended reality, Virtual Internet’s global 5G service is uniquely able to provide enhanced service offerings to partner apps, distribution partners and Virtual Internet app users.
