CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — Downtown Cary Park is officially open to the public and features unique amenities such as a playground, boardwalk, bar and take-out restaurant.
“There’s something for everyone here and the design is just beautiful,” said Cindy Karoly of Cary.
This park not only has a lot of entertainment facilities, but also is technologically advanced.
Provides 24/7 free Wi-Fi access to park visitors.
“We need to make sure that whether it’s winter, whether it’s summer, whether we’re surrounded by all the trees, whether we’re at the dog park at the ice rink, we’re going to have the connections that we need.” said Shannon Ludwig of NWN Carousel. A company that supports technology.
Ludwig said security is also a top priority.
“We put a lot of time and care into doing this. We need to make sure it is secure, so we do that through site surveys and wrapping security around it. ” Ludwig said.
It’s not just free Wi-Fi. The technology will soon allow the town to share information such as weather alerts, public service announcements and special promotions with park visitors through the Cary-On app.
“When you start looking at the park and its current location, everyone wants that instant connection. They don’t want to think about it,” Ludwig said. “People don’t want to work from home all the time. They want to be able to come here and work from here, and they want to bring their kids here to play. You may still want to use your device.”
Cary creates places where people can play, work, or both at the same time.
