Advice on how to deal with this situation has ranged from the extreme (cut off the leg) to the slightly mischievous…but this may be the worst posted online. So we all agreed.
This image, which has been circulating on social media in recent days, has many calling it the most disturbing thing in a while…and considering this year is 2024, that’s a lot. It tells the story.
People on the internet were outraged even though the photo only showed her socked feet, and if you looked closer you could see another person’s feet as well. Why all the fuss? Well, that leg apparently belongs to an airplane passenger… and they’re putting it on the armrest of the person in the front seat.

Is it invasive? yes. gross? yes. Is it worth cutting off a woman’s feet while wearing socks? Absolutely not.
The denizens of the internet, particularly Reddit, where the image was first posted, were daydreaming about how they would react to such an egregious violation of their personal space.
The mock advice ranges from the mildly ticklish to the creepy, with one Redditor commenting, “I put my arm on their leg, slip my hand into their sock, put my finger on their toe.” It’s like we’re intertwined and hugging each other.” I can wash my hands, but they can’t wash their memories. ”

When that lone comment received an overwhelming response, the “Hands in Hand” commenter came back and added, “Thank you for all the upvotes. I’ve never been this freewheeling IRL. To swear.”
By far the most common comment was simply, “Steal their socks, take them off right away, and act like you have no idea what they’re talking about. If they complain to the staff, they’ll have to deal with it.” “You’ll have to explain that you said that,” was the simple advice. Put your feet up on the armrests and think about what you’ve done. ”
Another commenter suggested amputation as an option, while another seemed to play out Mr Gray’s fantasy, advising: “Use zip ties to tie your legs to the armrests!”
