More locations around Humboldt will receive SaskTel’s 5G service in their communities and travel corridors as the communications network announces 30 additional cell sites across the province. This expansion will improve service and speed for residents and travelers in designated areas.
Regionally, the communities of Defoe, Elfs, Lanigan (northern) and Viscount are among the expansion locations.
Currently, SaskTel’s 5G network can provide data speeds of up to 1.2 gigabits per second (Gbps), but as the network matures, network speeds will increase significantly. Other future benefits of 5G include massive network capacity and ultra-low latency, all of which will enable new use cases for emerging wireless technologies that will be the foundation on which the next generation of innovations will be built. .
