Nvidia announced its new generation of AI graphics chip, Blackwell, on Monday at a conference in San Jose, California. The company’s advanced technology is essential for training and deploying AI models at scale, and its products are highly coveted by prominent companies in the Big Tech industry.
Jensen highlighted how AI can enable innovation in a variety of fields, including science and healthcare. He said AI could help “understand the meaning of proteins, the meaning of life” in a way that could speed up research and development of new treatments.
“With that computer, we can simulate life so that we don’t have to do most of the screening in the wet lab,” Jensen said. “So anything that we end up deciding to take to trial has a much better chance of actually making it through trial.”
Jensen also cited a number of Nvidia customers who have seen the company’s technology significantly speed up data processing and reduce costs.
“We’ve created a completely new way of doing computing,” he said. “Our technology is integrated into all these computer manufacturers, and the world is connecting it. That’s why Nvidia is everywhere. We’re in every cloud, every data center. It exists.”
