In endorsing Colorado Republican Party Chairman Dave Williams in the 5th Congressional District, former President Donald Trump accused Williams’ opponent, Jeff Krank, of working closely with China. What President Trump clearly doesn’t know is Williams’ history of working with the Chinese.

Even Krank didn’t know until CBS News Colorado showed him transaction records from ImportGenius.com, which uses U.S. Customs data to track the contents of shipping containers entering the United States. According to these records, Williams’ family business, MKW Global Sourcing, made just over 1,100 imports between 2008 and 2020, all but 11 of which were from China.
“I had no idea what Dave had done, because he was hiding these things from people,” Crank says. “What else is he hiding?”
One of Williams’ old campaign websites and filings with the Secretary of State’s Office show he served as registered agent and vice president of logistics for MKW, but his current campaign The website and current social media accounts make no mention of the family business, which includes; According to ImportGenius.com, he signed a contract with a Chinese company to ship 12 million pounds of Chinese plastic products to the United States.
Still, Williams insists he is the leader of President Trump’s America First movement.

“Dave is a hypocrite,” says Crank. “He’s made a career out of selling cheap Chinese products, but then he runs off and tells everyone he’s Mr. America First.”
Not only does Williams say he’s America First, but he also says Krank, who worked for the conservative super PAC Americans for Prosperity, is a globalist.
“That’s pandering. Dave is pandering,” Crank says. “It’s really surprising to me that he would attack and criticize me when I have not received any benefit from the Chinese Communist Party.”
Williams’ in-laws dissolved MKW Global Sourcing in 2022.
Williams said he wanted to retire, but the tariffs imposed on China by President Trump in 2018 appear to have affected the company’s import business. Before the tariffs were imposed, MKW was conducting nearly 300 import transactions from China a month. Only nine units were produced in 2020. And by 2022, it will be out of business.
