Crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside, samosas are a great pick-me-up at any time of the day when served with mint chutney and tomato ketchup. It also goes great with masala chai. The popularity and love of samosas is increasing all over the world. Recently, Vietnamese-American chef Newton Nguyen made samosas on Instagram at the urging of his family. The samosa cooking video went viral and racked up over 10 million views. The video impressed samosa lovers and made the snack look perfectly delicious.
The cooking video began with Newton reading one of the comments: “I think you should make samosas.” He started the samosa-making process by peeling three large potatoes. He cut these into cubes and boiled the potatoes in salted water. Next, I made a spice mix with oil and chopped green chillies, coriander, and garlic. After mashing the boiled potatoes, he added the spice mix and salt, peas and other chopped vegetables. Nguyen mixed it well and made stuffed samosas. After this he started preparing the dough. He added cumin seeds to refined flour and used oil to knead the dough. Then he made a cone and added potato stuffing to it. After sealing the samosas, they were fried. Voila! Delicious samosas are ready. Nguyen served these with green mint chutney.
Internet users, especially Indians, expressed their love and appreciation in the comments section.
“I’ve never been so proud of a stranger online. Looks amazing,” a user wrote. “Love from India,” another added.

Several users were impressed that apart from making great samosas, he didn’t mispronounce the name of the dish. The comment read, “Finally someone knows how to pronounce it.” A user added: “I’m so glad you didn’t say mimosa.”
Impressed users suggested that they should also try other Indian dishes: “You should try carrot cake aka gajar ka halwa.”
