“I named my baby after my internet provider so I could have free WiFi for 18 years.” This was also true for one couple who named their daughter after a local internet company.
The company’s boss had promised to provide free Wi-Fi for 18 years if a child was named after the company, even if the company went bankrupt. Some new parents couldn’t resist this offer.
They agreed to name their child after the Swiss internet provider Twifi in exchange for free Wifi until the child reaches adulthood. The proposal stated that parents who name their children Twifius or Twifia would be able to use the internet for free until the child reaches adulthood. The contract instructed her to “simply upload a photo of your child’s civil birth certificate. After verification, Twifi will provide her with free internet for 18 years.”

In 2020, the 30- and 35-year-old couple chose to remain anonymous and named their newborn baby girl Twifia, using it as her second middle name. Instead of spending money on WiFi, they are saving money with the intention of buying their daughter a car when she turns 18, as Kids Spot reported, Mirror reported.
The father confessed, “The more I thought about it, the more unique the name became to me, and that’s when I felt drawn to it.” Despite some initial hesitation, her wife said: “For me, the name Twifia also represents connection in this context. It means an eternal bond. There are worse names. And the more times we say ‘Twifia,’ the more The name resonates with me even more.” ”
The couple, who listed Twifia as one of their three first names on their daughter’s birth certificate, admitted they had mixed feelings about it. “We want to remain anonymous to those around us because we don’t want to justify ourselves,” they confessed. “Because the accusation of selling a child’s name is very shocking to us. Twifi boss Philippe Foch has vowed to treat it as a “matter of honor” and pay his internet bills even if his business fails. He previously declared that this unique offer was also available to other new parents.
