Now that the Galaxy A35 5G has been officially announced, it’s frankly no surprise that Samsung is also working on the M35 5G. The latter allegedly appeared in his GeekBench database below. SM-M356B Common name.
Similar to the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A54, this new device appears to use the Exynos 1380 chipset. It’s a 5nm Samsung in-house chip with a CPU configuration consisting of four Cortex-A78 cores running at up to 2.4 GHz and another four Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. The onboard GPU is Mali G68. Exynos 1380 offers UFS 3.1 storage and support for LPDDR4X and LPDDR5 RAM. However, it is still unclear what kind of chip the Galaxy M35 5G is equipped with. We do know that the unit we tested on GeekBench had 6GB of RAM and ran Android 14. Neither is surprising.
Unfortunately, nothing further specs have been confirmed. Starting from previous M-series devices, which were typically based on their Galaxy A counterparts, we would expect a very similar size, or an identical 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Probably a similar flat mid-frame design. It is also very likely to come with a larger 6,000 mAh battery, as that has become a signature feature of the M series. There’s probably also expandable storage, and there could be at least an 8GB RAM version somewhere. Even compared to the Galaxy A35 5G, there are certainly some downgrades, probably in intrusion protection, camera, and potentially speaker setup. Most of these points are just educated guesses at this point. We will keep you informed as new information becomes available.
