Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is facing backlash for criticizing President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address as partisan and divisive.

Gingrich, a presidential candidate, gained notoriety for spearheading the impeachment effort against President Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky scandal and for leading the infamous federal government shutdown in the 1990s. However, after posting this tweet, he was subjected to very personal insults.
