The collaboration agreement between 5G-ACIA and TAICS was facilitated by Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI).
5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taiwan Information and Communications Standards Institute (TAICS) to connect Taiwanese manufacturers with the global 5G Industrial Internet of Things Did. IIoT) standards.
Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) facilitated the signing of the agreement.
“ITRI has been actively engaged in research and development of 5G and B5G technologies for industrial upgrading, and this year our efforts have expanded beyond that,” said ITRI Information and Communications Research. said Pang-An Ting, general director of the company. “ITRI, as a world-class think tank with global connections, facilitated the holding of the 5G-ACIA General Assembly in Taiwan and promoted the global standard of 5G smart manufacturing through the cooperation of 5G-ACIA and TAICS. “Bringing together telecommunications companies will be advantageous for Taiwan in accessing global supply chains and markets,” Ting said.
TAICS Chairman Zhuo Ming Shu said: “5G-ACIA brings together global needs and regulations for 5G IIoT technology, while TAICS focuses on regional IoT technology and industry standards. We will be able to exchange current developments in manufacturing and as we race towards the 5G/6G communications standards set by 3GPP, an international organization dedicated to developing next generation global communications specifications. It can also encourage Taiwanese industrial products to enter global supply chains.”
5G-ACIA General Chair Andreas Müller said the new cooperation with TAICS represents an important step in moving industrial 5G from theory to practice. “Together, we are committed to building a vibrant ecosystem that drives innovation and sets new benchmarks for wireless connectivity in the industrial sector. It marks an exciting stage in our journey as we look towards a bright future, paving the way for the commercialization of 5G solutions.”
TAICS’ mission is to synergize standardization work on 5G, 6G, and ICT technologies and promote the joint development of standards among stakeholders in Taiwan’s ICT industry. TAICS has also actively participated in the activities of international standards development organizations and forums to develop new standards for national, regional and global adoption.
5G-ACIA’s mission is to ensure the best possible applicability of 5G technology for mobile radio, especially for connected industries, including manufacturing and process industries. 5G-ACIA aims to ensure that the interests and specific aspects of the industrial sector are properly taken into account in the standardization and regulation of 5G. 5G-ACIA emphasized that the ongoing 5G development will be ensured to be understood and transferred to the industrial sector.
