80s babes, rejoice. Not only are New Kids on the Block back on the touring circuit this year, but the iconic boy bands are also releasing new music for the first time in over a decade.
The Dorchester, Massachusetts-based quintet releases their eighth studio album, still kidsis scheduled to be released on May 17th. This is the band’s first new album since their 2013 album. Ten.
The news was announced Tuesday morning (March 5), around the same time Facebook and Instagram reported widespread outages. Coincidence? you tell us.
New Kids on the Block announce new album and single
The band also released the album’s lead single, the youthful banger “Kids”. This upbeat pop track reminds fans that the NKOTB boys are still young at heart, even though they’re all in their 50s.
“And we’re just kids from an empty city / Kids still playing around / Making the most of what we found, oops,” the vocalist sings in the chorus.
“Kids” is just one of the album’s 14 songs. According to a press release, the album will be a mix of “pop anthems, dance tracks, love songs, and grooves.”
Hardcore blockheads may be looking forward to some more nostalgia. still kids Two collaborations will be performed: “Get Down” with DJ Jazzy Jeff and “Old School Love” with singer-songwriter Taylor Dayne.

Founding member Donnie Wahlberg, who co-wrote seven of the album’s songs, said: still kids “The most mature album I’ve ever made.”
But don’t worry. “Still, this is the most fun, most comfortable album we’ve ever made,” Wahlberg added.
New Kids on the Block to start tour soon
2024 looks like a good year to be a blockhead. The “Hangin’ Tough” crew will begin their Magic Summer 2024 tour in June.
The two-time American Music Award winners hope to recreate the spirit of their legendary 1990 Magic Summer Tour. The tour grossed $74 million, making them the highest-grossing touring act in the United States at the time.
NKOTB enjoyed great success until Jonathan Knight left the band in 1994 due to panic attacks and anxiety. After that, the remaining four decided to disband and reunited 14 years later.
